About these terms

These terms cover the Trotr mobile app and this website, including the early community form. By using Trotr, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or site.

These terms explain the rules for using Trotr. They are not a substitute for advice from a solicitor.

What Trotr is

Trotr is the horse riding safety app. You start a ride and share it with people you trust so they can follow along in Trotr until you are back. Watchers see live location, expected return, and completion. You choose who can watch, and when a ride starts and finishes.

SOS alerts the people you have chosen, with your location. Overdue and no-movement alerts do the same. SOS is not a replacement for calling 999.

If you or someone else is in danger, call 999. Trotr does not call 999 for you.

Your account and sharing

You must use Trotr lawfully and be old enough to have an account where you live. Trotr is not for under-13s. Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Only invite watchers you trust. They will be able to see location and status for the rides you share with them. Do not share someone else’s ride, or their personal information, without their permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Trotr to stalk, harass, or harm anyone
• Interfere with the app, website, or other people’s use of Trotr
• Attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours
• Misuse location sharing or copy content you do not own
• Post route-library or safety-map content that is false, abusive, or not yours to share

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put people at risk.

Availability and changes

Core use stays free for riders and for the people who watch them, and Rider Plus is an optional paid subscription. Features and store availability may change as we learn with early riders. Trotr may be unavailable from time to time — for maintenance, network issues, or reasons outside our control. We do not promise that location sharing will always be accurate or uninterrupted.

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

Liability

Trotr is a way to keep trusted people informed. It does not guarantee your safety. To the fullest extent the law allows, Trotr is not liable for loss arising from relying on Trotr instead of calling 999, from inaccurate or delayed location, or from another person’s misuse of a share link.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that UK law does not allow us to exclude.
